November 2014

Despite all the poisoning, appendicitis and hospital issues, November was nice. We had visitors in the beginning of the month. Our friend Emre was here for a weekend with his girlfriend and my parents stayed for 3 days. It’s always nice to have friends and family around here.

November was not a busy month for me as it was for Mr. T. Except the nights of German class and a few free nights, he was working. We have restarted to German class mid October. It’s now getting harder each day and needs full concentration and time to study, practice and memorize all the things we learn. I am ok with it but with this crazy schedule, I have no idea how my husband will carry out. So we are not sure if we will be able to continue or not. We might take a little break and restart again in spring time next year.

With all the wild work hours, he still tries to spend as much time as possible with me. We pulled it off to have a few romantic date nights together. You really don’t realize how much you need it untill you go on one. One night we had a movie date on which we saw Interstellar. It was an amazing movie and we talked about how rarely we go to the movies. With all the cable tv channels and DVD nights at home, we seriously neglect it. The last movie we saw in theater was The Grand Budapest Hotel and it was 6 months ago! So we decided to pay more attention to big screen. Speaking of movies, we  also saw Deathproof, Maleficent, and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty  this month ( I’ll see this beauiful movie again tonight!).

This month we started a new routine. It may sound weird but we started to cook fish at home. For me fish is something you eat out and something we’ve never cooked at home until last month. I know it is really important to eat fish twice a week but sometimes we don’t eat it for months and to be honest I’m not really a fan of it’s taste. But we announced Sundays, “Fish Sunday“. So if you have some recipes, please please send me.

I have another routine going on for a few months now. I started to brew Kefir but I want to write about it in detail in coming days.

Aaaaand clean eating.  FAILURE

Actually I tried to eat healthy but sometimes I forgot and carried away with the joy of tasting all the sweet calories like I did last week. We spent a few days together with my sister and in the end we knew that it was a big mistake. She’s been on a sugar-free diet since summer and I’m going to join her but every single day was full of high carb meals + desserts. And we said, this is never going to happen again, we’ll never be left alone in a house with kitchen and with money.

And the closure of November was also in the hospital for me because I took a shot in the knee. Now I know what pain means… In coming days, a surgical operation might be in question. I hope it does because I want my brand new knee as soon as possible.

During November, I’ve read Heart, Self and Soul by Robert Frager and I’ve started reading I Quit Sugar by Sarah Wilson and The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks. If you are interested in human brain and neurological sciences, Oliver Sacks’ book is a good start.

Crafty days are ahead for me in December because I’m planning to make little gifts for loved ones  for New Year and also we have our new year card. We haven’t decided yet but i can say it will be totally a GIF!

I wish you a happy December. ♥
