May 2016

june 2016

I’m happy that I’m at home, sitting in our living room and writing this May 2016 recap. Though I really love being out and about, I do miss our home.

May was so good and for us mostly on the roads. First we visited our parents for Mother’s Day. It was a lovely weekend. I always say it and will say it again: There’s nothing better than spending time with family and nothing satifiying -nutritionally speaking-.

After the family weekend, we continued where we left off ➵ Clean eating. We had a few cheat meals, actually Mr. T had mostly, I’ve been super serious and innocent UNTIL we departed for Cappodocia. We had planned a getaway trip to Göreme- Nevşehir after we learnt about Cappadox. Actually the festival was just an excuse for us because we’ve been willing to visit there. We did once when we were both in high school and once again, we were so sorry and regreted that we didn’t planned this trip earlier. It was the perfect time to be there and it was terrific!

We stayed in Göreme Garden House, a nice and cosy Hotel in Göreme. There are really amazing hotels but for a last minute planning, Göreme Garden House was a good choice -except the breakfast, breakfast was horrible-.

As known very well, Nevşehir is famous with “Fairy Chimneys” and hot air balloon flights. As there’s no way I’d participate in a balloon flight in my super cautious country, we were very happy with only watching the rides. We woke up at 05:00 am and went to Red Valley to withness the amazing scene. The valley itself is like from a fairy tale movie and the balloons in the sky make it even more magical. It’s also famous with its sunset so we didn’t miss the chance to see the panoromic view. Though it was cloudy, the sky was fantastic.

While visiting Nevşehir we also wanted to see the surroundings. We visited, Ürgüp, Uçhisar, Avanos, all the underground cities and Ihlara Valley. After all that beautiful scenes, being in the middle of “green” was like the cherry on top. Lately, there’s nothing I want more than being in nature. We keep talking and planning short trips to places where we are going to get lost in green.

Just as I said, May was the perfect time to visit there. It was not crowded, it was not hot as hell like during summer time and If you have a museum pass, everything is much more easy and cheaper. I’m grateful that we had the chance for this trip.

After this wonderful getaway, Mr. T left for a four-day vacation that was organized by his company so I went to Istanbul to visit my sister. What did we do? We walked, we shopped, we ate and most importantly we played Rummikub. Also we started watching Game Of Thrones starting from season one. I think it’s a very good idea to watch the show over again to remember and understand things if you haven’t read the books just like me.

In between these trips, we could go and see a movie. We saw The Man Who Knew Infinity. It was a good movie and the best part was; The movie theatre was almost empty. I can enjoy the shittiest movie in an empty movie house.

And now we are finally home and excited for summer. I finished our seasonal wardrobe transition. Seeing all my t-shirts and dresses made me get even more excited. From summer 2016 I don’t ask for much. Health, peace and a little tan. And sunshine! Lots of lots of lots of LOTS OF sunshine!

I hope you all have an amazing June and an unforgettably perfect summer

  1. I’ve been thinking the same thing since I started to spend more and more time in nature and green! Sometimes even a little bird astonishes me. I think when we are able to be in the present, the things we call “simple” becomes fascinating :)

  2. The balloons are beautiful Fatos! :) we have a same festival here in Philippines but the view there is much much picturesque. I’m happy that you are able to spend Mother’s Day with your parents. It’s nice to be with them every now & then.

Btw, I am very curious about that “shittiest movie” haha I’ll try to look that up in torrent.

  3. Noooo, It was a super nice movie, what I wanted to say is I would be happy being in an empty movie theatre even I watch a very shitty movie :)
