March 2017

Another super late monthly recap, plus I can barely remember March 2017.

I mentioned in my Meet Carlos post that the first half of March was not the best. But the second half was just the opposite -until post-referendum-. But sure the highlight of the month was no doubt Carlita. After the vets said she’s ok and doing fine, everything went back to normal.

We cooked, we went out, we watched series and movies and finally I started spring cleaning. This time I can say I’m trying a new thing about tidying and cleaning. I’ll share my experience here if I can.  The weather was lovely most of the month but I couldn’t start my morning walks yet. I have no idea why but I have a sleep disorder lately. I don’t know if it’s because the seasonal change or something else but it’s a pain in the ass for me. I can’t sleep until almost 2:oo am but I wake up at 6:30 in the morning really bright but after 9:00 am I crave for a little sleep then all my day and schedule, all goes boom. I need to fix this immediately!

During the half of March I cooked a little but baked a lot. We mostly ate out but I guess we needed it. For the first time in my life I baked a cake from scratch. I know I’m almost 35 and it was my first time. It turned out great by the way. I baked Potato Mille Feuille as dinner one night and a giant pizza. Baking olive scones was one of my monthly goals and I did. It was a recipe from Cupcake Jemma. They were a bit salty but really delicious. I regularly baked bread and we almost never bought during March. I tried new bread flour mixtures but particularly I was willing to try gluten-free bread for a long time and finally I did. It was delicious and became one of our favorites. In coming months – I have no idea when but- I want to spend a gluten-free month and it was nice to know I can eat bread with pleasure.

Despite my irregular sleep pattern, I tried my best to eat clean and well. I can say, I fucked up big time during April so far. We gave ourselves time until the end of April and totally are taking control of our eating habits in May. As I said we ate a lot during March but it was nice to try new places. We tried a new burger place which is seriously good “Fess Burger“. Then I tried another burger in El Paso which is a place close to our house but I didn’t like it very much, Though it’s a good place to drink and listen to good music. We found a place by chance, a place where you can eat one of the world’s best dessert “künefe“. It’s called Zeugma in Ankara and very close to Fess Burger.

And I changed my hair! I wrote before but I was really undecisive about it. I pay attention to planets and their movements and I know it’s not the perfect time to have a hair change, colour, style, major changes in your look while Venus is in retro but I’m glad I did. For me, it worked.

I now checked my Goodreads account to see what I’ve read during March 2017; I finished reading Aylak Adam by Yusuf Atılgan, The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch and Energy Medicine by Donna Eden. I can’t say the same for Randy Pausch’s book but Energy Medicine was a great source for me and became my bedside book. If you are interested in energies and energy healing, this book is a good start.

And what did we watch in March? I have no idea, I forgot but luckly I started to take notes about what we watched. We finished the first season of The Magicians and didn’t start the second season. Because I want to read the novels. To be honest, I didnt know it was an adaptation from the trilogy by Lev Grossman. As we started watching, everything seemed to happen very quickly and then I woke up. This rash only happens in an adaptation. So we quit watching and I’m planning to read it during summer vacation.

I finished How To Get Away With Murder while Mr. T was having a getaway with his friends. Also I wacthed I don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore. I like everything if Elijah Wood is in it. And this movie like it’s title was really good. I also saw Everybody Wants Some; another good movie no matter what IMBD says. We finished watching Travelers’ first season, still no idea why we did…

For April I did write down my monthly goals long ago and I’m doing good so far but let’s talk about them in 10 days, I hope to not to be this late for April recap.

I hope your April is going well and nice. No matter what, we shouldn’t forget how lucky we are and it’s a great chance to be here and experience this life.
