June 2017… A month from autumn… It litterally felt like fall during June here in Ankara. And it sucked. This is going to be a short monthly recap because contrary to June, summer heat is at full throttle on these July days. I’ll be at the pool if you need me #sorrynotsorry
June was boring because the weather… We had a few good and sunny days so that we enjoyed a few dinners out. But we were mostly at home and I was really into baking & cooking. I kept baking my breads. Mmmm my delicious breadsss♥ I baked cakes and cookies as always. But the winner of the month was the chestnut soufflé I tried for the first time at this restaurant. And the runner up was “katmer” I -again-tried for the first time.
Nooooo I lied. I’m sorry. In June I’ve found the recipe of my life; a recipe that made me finally strike eggs out of my life: Vegan chickpea flour omelette. And get ready I’ll share my recipe here soon. Also I tried gnocchi casserole with mushrooms and spinach and it was molto delizioso. I guess this blog has the potential to turn into a foodie blog…
By the end of the month we went to visit our families as it was Ramadan feast. And this was when the summer started. Since then everything is amazing because every day is sunny and hot.
During June I’ve read two books; Prof. Arnold Ehret’s Mucusless-diet Healing System and Practicing the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I watched a few good movies, The Immigrant, Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, a very nice Italian movie which inspired me to cook my gnocchi casserole “Perfetti Sconosciuti” and a super boring Chinese movie “Cui mian da shi“. We finished watching 13 Reasons Why and Big Little Lies and started watching the final season of The Leftovers.
I guess that’s it for June 2017. Now I’ll take a shower and start to watch a new series; Santa Clarita Diet about which I’ll talk on July’s recap. Hope you are having a beautiful summer up there!
