No matter how unmotivated I am to write here, I’m going to do it. I’ll write. Because one thing that makes me feel regret is not writing my monthly reviews. Maybe not much is happening in our lives but I love outlining our montly adventures no matter what, just for us.
October 2017 wil be remembered as the month that I accepted I’ll never ever grow my bangs out I accept and admit it. Since May 2017 I had been trying to grow them out but I gave up. Why? because I love my bangs. I believe they look good on me and as my husband says they make me look more “francophone“. So after making this confession, I can go on.
October brought some changes in our lives but I’m not going to talk about it here now. I’ll write about all the other crazy stuff we did(!). October started with health matters. We had a check-up together with Mr. T and guess whose cholesterol is very high and needs to cut off animal products? My husband! So under these circumstances, we started to feed ourselves very very healthy. I can say I was in the kitchen every single day. Normally I cook meals for a few days so I don’t spend too much time in the kitchen. But this time it was a joy for me because I’ve never seen Mr. T this serious before (about eating healthy). So my veggies and me were so happy during October. I tried different recipes and experiment things. I cooked potato-carrot cashew mash and cauliflower buffalo wings. They became our favorites! We also made an amazing giant pizza from spelt flour.
Ofcourse we had cheat days. As a matter of fact, we decided to eat out just once a week, just one meal, favourably on weekends. One of those days we tried a beautiful vegan restaurant in Ankara which is called “Veganka“. I’m surprised Mr.T liked the food and we are definitely going there again. Other cheat days were booked to the places we haven’t been for a long time.
In October we were able to go to the movies, YAY! We watched IT and Mother!. We might have watched It in September, I don’t really remember but movie dates are my favorite. And both movies were the ones we were looking forward to see and I did love them.
Mr T. went to Germany for one week in October and I had the chance to watch a lot of movies. Before he left we watched an amazing documentary “What The Health“. You should if you haven’t yet. Then we watched Get Out and Baby Driver on a lazy sunday. Then I watched Samadhi ( a beautiful documentary), 10 Things I Hate About You, The Handmaiden, Side-Effects, The Meyerowitz Stories and Mistress America. I also finished the second season of F is For Family and we finished watching the third season of Narcos just in a few days.
I was also able to read last month. There were books in our bookself waiting for ages to be read and although I did want to shop for books, I decided to read them. I’ve read an amazing graphic biography of Vincent van Gogh by Barbara Stock. Then I’ve read Les dix enfants que madame Ming n’a jamais eus by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt. It’s a short but beautiful book. Then the next book became one of my all time favorites; La vie devant soi by Romain Gary. After, I’ve read Blindness by Jose Saramago. It was my second Saramago book. Then I’ve read a book that was waiting for too long; Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body’s Most Underrated Organ by Giulia Enders. How to Sit by Thich Nhat Hanh was the next book. Next stop was an other Yusuf Atılgan book, Anayurt Oteli and I didn’t like it that much. Finally I’ve read Patrick Süskind‘s The Pigeon. It was short but very impressive book. Now it’s time for book photos. Books are beautiful and they should be photographed more!
October was nice. My headaches decided to make it unpleasant from time to time but I enjoyed it. I wish you a beautiful November!
