Hello February

Was January super fast or was it just me? 2018 started fast but good and it keeps getting better.

First of all, it was Mr. T’s birthday at the beginning of the month. We celebrated with a nice birthday dinner and a little cake at home, three of us.

And the next thing we did was going out! I mentioned here before that we decided to be more active this year. I want to go out, going to concerts, going to theater, going to cinema, going daily trips, going walking etc. So I chase events in our city.

We didn’t go to the cinema but we went to a play which I wanted to see for a long time; Diary of a Madman by Nikolai Gogol. I’m very determined about theaters and plays this year.

Also this month I tried new things in the kitchen. I made the ultimate vegan burgers and they are ridiculously delicious! And onion strings! They are addictive! Let’s not forget my amazing vegan lahmacun. They turned out so yummy I made them two times. Other than these, we continued to eat rainbows!

In coming days, I’ll try to cook falafel. I loooove falafel but I haven’t tried to make it at home yet. And by the way, yes I’m trying to be a vegan. I say “trying to” because it’s a process for me; a gradual process. I have no problem with not eating “meat” because I’ve never enjoyed eating it and I’ve been a vegetarien for a long time. I’m doing great, I’m feeling great and I hope to call myself a “vegan” at the end of this year or even sooner.

Anyway, my physical therapy is over and I started to swim again. I’m trying to adapt my new daily routine and also trying to create a new morning routine. Because I’m feeling exhausted after swimming. I need time and stability to adjust.

One thing we were consistent about this month was watching TV. We became Netflix junkies. We finished the last season of Black Mirror. Everyone seemed unsatisfied with the last season but I liked it. Then we finished watching the first season of The end of the Fucking World. Inbetweeners were in my list for a very long time and we finished all three seasons. English comedy has always been my favorite. Then I finished the last season of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. It is one of the best shows I have ever watched in my entire life. I LOVE THIS SHOW! We also finished watching The Story of God with Morgan Freeman. On lazy sunday afternoons, we watched The Bling Ring, Number 23 and Seven Psychopaths

As we watched TV a lot and I kept falling asleep really early, I couldn’t read properly. I only read two books. But they were two long awaited books to be read: If on a Winter’s Night a Traveller by Italo Calvino and Martin Eden by Jack London. I challenged myself not to buy new books until April 2018. There is a great deal of books in my library waiting to be read so my priority is to handle them.

Now I need to prepare my lunch, then make onion strings for dinner because we are going to eat vegan burgers tonight. It’s our cheat day.

I hope you are having a wonderful month!
