Week 12: Write About Some Of Your Favorite Places.
First of all, our home. It’s my number one favorite place. I love it, I miss it whenever I’m away.
My home town. I’ve never thought I’d say this as I used to hate it while I was living there as a teenager but growing up in a small seaside town was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I have good or bad so many beautiful memories. Our house is just a few meters away from the shore and has a beautiful seaview. We used to go to the reefs of the shore when we were happy, when we were sad, when we were bored, when we were drunk… Karamürsel makes me feel peaceful whenever I go.
This may sound weird but Euro Disney in Paris is one of my favorite places. I’ve always been into fairy tales and supernatural things and been a sucker for Disney all of my life. I’m 35 and I’m still dreaming about visiting the other Disney resorts. I’ve been there for 4 times and everytime I was like in another world or dimension where nothing bad happens, everyone is happy and smiles. A few hours of peace, away from the real world.
Place Victor Hugo in Grenoble. The first time I went to Grenoble was in summer 2005. I went to a summer course with a friend. It was more like a summer holiday and it was a once in a lifetime summer! After I graduated in 2006, I wanted to continue my studies there and I was lucky I could. Grenoble is a city but it’s a small one and the city center is walkable from one end to the other. La Place victor Hugo is one of the beautiful parks in Grenoble, it’s not too big, it’s in the city center and it’s somehow my favorite place in this city. I remember visiting the traditional Le Marché de Noel, eating churros with my favorite latina, waiting for classmates and listening to music… I wish to visit there again one day.
And water. Though I love and admire all Mother Nature’s work, no mater what kind; seas, oceans, lakes, rivers, creeks, streams, waterfalls… water always makes me so happy! I love being in or near water. When in high school, we used to go to the shore during our lunch breaks and soak our feet in the sea. It’s my dream to have a small house close to the sea, maybe in an italian coast or in Datça, Turkey one day…
