Another beautiful day and a belatedly written monthly review. BUT what a beautiful month April 2018 was! The weather was fine so we were mostly outdoors and April started with a day-long walk in the city. I really love the city we live but sometimes the only thing missing to me is the sea.
Now as the May has started and the rain being a pain in the ass, I miss those lovely April days. We went to parks and forests and then as I mentioned here before, we decided to enjoy more time outdoors. Then my one in a million husband surprised me with a bike I’ve been drooling over. We had our bikes but had never ridden them since we moved here. This little lady is now a very nice motivator for me. So fingers are crossed for the good weather in the second half of May.
And then the birthday girl, my sister. She turned 40 On April 23rd. We went to Istanbul to celebrate with a nice dinner and a small house party. There’s no way she looks 40 or she feels 40.
And at other times, we cooked, we ate, we drank, we watched and we read.
I read an incredible novel this month; Baudolino by Umberto Eco. It was so so good and I haven’t been feeling the ” book hangover” for a long time and after finishing it I immediately wanted to go back to it, wanted to start again. If you love fictional history then it’s a mus-read for you. We watched Usual Suspects, Ocean’s 11 and Ocean’s 12, The Bucket List, No Strings Attched and of course like the rest of the world, we saw Wild Wild Country.
Well, I have a lot to do today, it’s almost 2pm, we arrived home late yesterday night as it was Mother’s Day. I have a large baggage to open and wash. I won’t be able to cook today because there’s a gas leakage in our building so there’s no gas today and no hot water either.
I hope you are spending you May days smoothly.
