February 2019

February 2019 was great. I know it’s the shortest month but it felt like longer than any of them. Mainly the last week. The month started with a visit to my parents as it was my father’s birthday. We spent the first weekend there.

The weather was nice in general so we were out of the house, specially at the weekends.

We went to Istanbul and we are still trying to recover from it. It was a weekend full of food, booze, cold and laughter. We tried a new restaurant with my sister; Mr. Dumpling. The vegan fried dumplings were amazing! The next hangover morning we went to Le Pain Quotidien for breakfast. How I wish they had vegan croissants… When we were back we had a nice dinner with one of our friends with whom I haven’t seen for a long time. We went to Salaş Meyhane (it was our first time) and really enjoyed everything, the food, the music, the service.

Until the last week of February, we ate really healthy. But the last week was a disaster. We are going to eat totally clean during March, we promised each other. The best thing I did in the kitchen was my blueberry banana bread. It was fantastic and also sugar -free (The recipe will up on my blog and my Instagram which I’ll share them both very soon).

During February, I was like:We watched the fourth season of Luther. There’s a fifth season which you can not find on Netflix. So we started to watch Sherlock and… Jackpot! It’s now one of my favorite series of all time. We are already on the last season and I don’t want to watch and finish it but The game is on, Watson! We also went to see The Favorite last week.

I’ve read 3 books. Actually one of them was a graphic novel: Le Combat Ordinaire by Manu Larcenet. It was remarkable. I’ve read Ask the Dust by John Fante. It was a book I’ve been planning to read for a long time and I loved it. On the other hand there was book waiting in my shelf for ages and somehow I never felt like reading. BUT I did read it: Lord of the Flies by William Golding.I wish you all a beautiful month. We have nice plans for March. I hope to have more sunny days like today during this month.
