Hello from a hot and sunny June Saturday. After a cloudy and grey even stormy May, June is like heaven.
Except the first week of May 2019 when we went to Istanbul, we were at home in the city. The last couple of months were kind of tiring as we kept travelling and partying. We, especially I wanted to stay at home for the rest of the month. There were days that I left the house just to feed the cats outside when Mr. T was in Poland for one week. Plus, the weather was not pleasing during the month so being able to stay at home was like a blessing.
We didn’t do much in May, just regular stuff, watching series, reading books, cooking, eating out once in a while, watching Game of Thrones…
On my own behalf, I was like a Netflix junkie last month. When Mr. T was abroad I watched a Turkish series; Masum. Then we finished watching the first season of Killing Eve which was amazing! Then I watched the Netflix movie Perfection. Next we
started, FINALLY STARTED watching Sons of Anarchy. And for the lonely evenings when Mr. T had a business dinners or meetings, I started watching Good Girls. See, we’re fucked, we’re addicted to Netflix.
After finishing to read One, None and a Hundred Thousand by Luigi Pirandello I wanted to read simple stories so I read The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson, The Tale of the Unknown Island by José Saramago, Master Zacharius by Jules Verne, The Village School Master by Franz Kafka, A Turkish novel Çocuklugun Soguk Geceleri by Tezer Özlü and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. I’ve read more than 1000 pages last month.
As I said May was the calmest month of 2019. No packing bags, no road trips, no sleepless nights, just us, our home, our kids, food, books and TV. What more could one ask for?
I wish you a beautiful month with lots of sunny days. Happy summer everyone!
