Farewell 2019

Oh dear, what a year 2019 has been. If it wasn’t a roller coaster ride, I don’t know what it was. 2019, you slapped us in the face, challenged us to change, grow and be better. But at the same time, you showered us with amazing surprises, made us shed tears of happiness, made us feel blessed… You will always hold a special place in my heart and among my memories. You were unforgettable.

I must say the first half of the year was quite good. Everything was calm and steady. It was the summer that rocked the boat and keeps rocking to a degree…I am grateful for everything that happened this year. No matter what, I’ll continue to live as though everything is a miracle.

6 full years here, in Ankara. Our little family of four loves this city and no intention of leaving soon. We moved here when I was 31 and now I’m 37. In 2019, we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. If I’m holding his hand, nothing matters. But still, he’s not vegan and it breaks my heart💔 I completed the second year of my vegan lifestyle I’m so proud of myself that I’m not a part of animal cruelty.

We traveled. Not as much as we wanted to or planned to but that’s OK because we were lucky enough to have a two week vacation in our favorite place. We have again nice plans for the coming year.

We watched movies, we watched series, we watched documentaries… Fleabag is by far the best show I’ve watched this year. Luther, Sherlock and Sharp Objects are also my favorites. When it comes to movies, Green Book, Spirited Away, Joker, This is Spinal Tap and Hereditary are the ones that I really liked.

I challenged myself to read 50 books in 2019 and proudly I can say I pulled it off. I read fiction mostly, 10.332 pages in total.  My favorites from 2019 are;  Ask the Dust by John Fante, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Series by Douglas Adams  Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. But the winner is Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman.

When it comes to music, just ignore me. I have no idea what I am doing. Dance pop? Seriously? DANCE POP?!

It was also a big year for Mr T. He had gone through a lot. Lots of stressful working days but in the end it’s all worth it. What a fabulous gift the Universe has given him, given us. Move over, 2020 is coming for him!

This was our remarkable and exceptional year. I didn’t know then that 2018 was preparing me for 2019. I feel like everything that has been happening, everything that I’ve been going through since 2016 was for 2020. I feel like everything has just started to fall into pieces. I’m so grateful for the lessons. I’m leaving behind everything that no longer serves me, I’m releasing everyone that no longer aligns with me, I’m letting go of every single thing that is no longer for me and I feel so good about it. I’m opening space in my life for ongoing growth. Let me express my gratitude for all of you but our time has run out and you are staying in 2019. What can I say, It’s an end of a decade. So, let’s do this 2020!

I hope 2020 to be loaded with health, happiness and abundance for all of you. I wish it to be a positive year for everyone. ⭐

I’m sure it’s going to be a miraculous year for me and my family. For me, every day is a miracle so 365 days of marvelousness? Why not?
